The continental area of Australia is divided into six regions, plus the region of the island of Tasmania. Throughout all the regions of Australia, and on several of the islands around Continental Australia we find many important cities.

The main tourist destinations in Australia are along the coast, with the crème de la crème being the Gold Coast. Other important destinations are the big cities like Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth. Also of significant interest are places like Albany, Canberra, Cairns, Coral Bay and Townsville.

Inland there is one destination which stands out above the rest - Alice Springs, a place where you can savour the taste of real inland Australia, far away from the hustle and bustle of life, in the desert.

Other fantastic places to visit in Australia are Adelaide, Augusta, Port Lincoln, Tasmania and Cocos.
